Last Saturday was both a sad and a happy day for us.
Sad because we are losing Rach and Gary for a year or more whilst they travel around South America; and happy because we are excited for them and the journey they are about to undertake.
Rachel and Gary were foundation members at CFM and Rachel was training with me in my group sessions before we started CFM. They have embraced the CrossFit methodology and both have completed the CrossFit Cert 1 course. Rachel helped out with some coaching at times and also ran the kids program for a while.
Taking the CrossFit theme of ‘constantly varied’ to the extreme, Rach and Gary have decided to constantly vary their whole life!
At a time when they seemed to be endlessly busy and working their backsides off, or running kids round along with social occasions they surprised us by opting out of the grind. They have decided to become nomads for a year and explore South America with no particular agenda. This is an adventure many of us wish we had the guts to take; they have!
Air fares are booked to Mexico for Christmas, beyond that, they’ll go wherever they want, whenever they want.
Rach and Gary are more them members of our gym, they have become friends and we appreciate and value that friendship.
Along with their kids Amalia and Ruby, they will be disappearing from our physical life for a year or more but we will be following their adventures via Facebook and their Blog when they set it up.
We’re sad to see them go but we’re also excited about their journey and the adventures and experiences it will hold.
We wish Rachel, Gary, Amalia and Ruby safe and adventurous travels. We look forward to reading about them on the net and a big catch up when they return.
